Export Controls Training Course

The export process, especially for our industry, is heavily regulated by federal laws and regulations, such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).  These regulations could significantly affect your company’s everyday operations including international travel, plant tours, shipments and communications.

In the interest of U.S. foreign policy and national security, your company and agents may be required to register with and obtain an export license from the government before it can "export" or "re-export" certain commodities (goods), technology (software, technical data and know-how), or services overseas to anyone, including U.S. citizens, or to foreigners on U.S. soil.

Export control regulations cover transactions you might not even think are "exports, and the penalties for non-compliance are quite severe.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) is sponsoring a free, interactive training course that will provide industry members essential information on U.S. export control laws and how to avoid government enforcement action due to non-compliance. This 45-minute training course is excellent for anyone new to exporting or who simply wants a refresher. At the end of the course, each attendee will be issued a certificate of completion.

Global Anti-Corruption Training Course

With the "New Era" of enforcement of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and the fear that companies, and even their individual executives, could face stiff fines and significant jail time for corruption and bribery violations, it has never been more critical for NSSF member companies doing business globally to train their representatives on FCPA compliance.

Under the FCPA and other international anti-corruption and anti-bribery laws, it is generally illegal for companies or their representatives to pay, offer or promise anything of value to foreign officials to obtain or retain business or to secure an improper commercial advantage.

As an exclusive benefit to its members, NSSF is sponsoring a free, interactive Global Anti-Corruption training course to help member representatives navigate through the FCPA minefield. The 35-minute webinar can be viewed at any time and at their own pace. At the end of the webinar, each attendee will be issued a certificate of completion.

Topics covered:

  • Importance of Compliance
  • Costs of Noncompliance
  • Basic Anti-Corruption Principles
  • Monetary Payments, Gifts and "Anything of Value"
  • Red Flags
  • Record keeping
  • Penalties
  • Examples of recent FCPA cases

This webinar is ideal for the following company representatives located in the U.S. and abroad:

  • Compliance Officers
  • Executive Management
  • Legal Counsel
  • Government Affairs Personnel
  • Risk Managers
  • Sales/Marketing Personnel
  • Training Personnel
