Congressmen Introduce Pro-Gun Bill in House

U.S. Reps. Zack Space (D-Ohio) and Steve King (R-Iowa) have introduced the "Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Reform and Firearms Modernization Act of 2007" (HR 4900), legislation which represents a major advance in protecting the rights of firearms dealers, bringing consistency to ATF enforcement actions and providing ATF with additional compliance tools long sought by the bureau. Help support HR 4900.

Congressman Dan Boren (D-Okla.) and Don Young (R-Alaska) have introduced a bill (H.R. 5502) which would greatly simplify the permitting process for low-impact film crews to produce programs on federal lands. The legislation would establish a simple annual fee for crews of fewer than five people. Currently, television and film producers are forced to contend with a burdensome permitting process that is difficult to navigate and time-consuming. NSSF is encouraging all hunters, sportsmen and firearms enthusiasts to contact their congressman/woman and encourage them to co-sponsor H.R. 5502.

When film crews are discouraged from filming America’s great terrain, we all lose.

Anti-gun legislators in more than a dozen states have recently introduced two types of gun-control measures -- bullet serialization and firearms microstamping -- that would not only be ineffective in reducing crime, but detrimental to firearm and ammunition manufacturers.
