SCTP Coach Training Grant Guidelines
The National Shooting Sports
Foundation, through its Scholastic Clay Target Program, has established
a grant program to assist SCTP state directors and coaches interested
in conducting or organizing coach/instructor training courses
for other SCTP participants. The program is designed to help
offset all or a portion of the registration costs of SCTP-approved
training courses to individuals attending them. The number of
grants available to applicants are limited and will be awarded
on a first-come, first-serve basis provided all grant conditions
are met. Below are the conditions of the program and directions
on how to apply for a Coach Training Grant (CTG). ALL
information requested in the grant application must be supplied
upon submission before your application is considered. Please follow all the
criteria listed.
1. Timeframe - Applications
will be accepted from April 1, 2008 to January 31, 2009 or until
all grants have been awarded.
2. Eligibility - You must
be a registered SCTP State Director or Coach between April 1,
2008 to January 31, 2009 and have made arrangements with a certified
instructor of one of the recognized courses below in order to
apply for a grant.
3. Recognized Courses -
Listed below are courses eligible for a grant:
- NRA Basic Shotgun Instructor
- NRA/ATA Coach Training
- NSSA/NSCA Coach Training
- NRA/CMP/USAS Shotgun Coach Certification
NOTE: If you do not see your course listed, please
contact SCTP Headquarters. The NSSF retains final authority in determining
eligible courses.
4. Participation - At least
five (5) of your course attendees must be registered SCTP State
Directors and/or Coaches. If you do not have at least 5 State
Directors or Coaches for your course, please contact your State
Director or SCTP Headquarters before submitting your grant application
for the names of possible attendees. Your application will be
considered incomplete if course attendees are not identified
upon submission.
5. Grant Distribution -
If approved for a grant, funds will be distributed in two rounds.
Upon approval, applicants will receive half of the funds awarded.
Once the course is completed and the course report has been sent
to SCTP Headquarters, the remaining half of the funds will be
sent to the recipient.
Upon approval of grant applications, course instructors will
receive a packet which will include a W-9 form and information
regarding the follow-up report that will need to be completed
to receive their second grant disbursement.
