“First Shots has been a great marketing tool that gets a new generation of customers in our doors.”
— Michael Barbour, Top Gun Shooting Sports, Taylor, Michigan
Invaluable to Business
We have found the First Shots program to be very successful in educating new and novice shooters on firearm safety and the shooting fundamentals. Our staff has enjoyed the sense of accomplishment from helping people learn how to safely use firearms. There is no greater satisfaction than seeing a shooter go from nervous to smiling after learning the love of the shooting sports through attending the First Shots class. To date we have taught over 1800 people through the First Shots event and many have become lifelong customers and more importantly friends. Attendees comment that they felt very comfortable and safe in the class and that they would recommend the class for others who are new to shooting. Having the opportunity to host the First Shots program has been invaluable to our business.–Jessica Keffer, The Sportsmans Shop, East Earl, Pennsylvania
Introduction to Shooting with Many Incentives
"The NSSF First Shots Program has been an excellent addition to our range. Customers fill the class every time we offer it which has allowed us to come into contact with 30 or more new to shooting or first-time shooters every month. We have been pleased with the support from NSSF with everything from coupon codes for the attendees and listing our class dates on their platforms to free product for the class. If you want to offer something new that sells itself, then get the NSSF First Shots program implemented for your range today!"--Jennifer Majors, CFO, Buck & Doe's Mercantile, San Antonio, Texas
Many Benefits from Program
The First Shots class is part of our foundational classes that we teach to the beginner shooter. The students come out of the class feeling empowered and confident. The transformation from the beginning of class to the end of class is awesome. As an instructor, seeing how the students come away from the class smiling and looking forward to additional training opportunities is very rewarding. Our partnership with the NSSF has been very beneficial to our range, our store, and the community at large. Thank you to NSSF and industry sponsors for your continued support over the years. –Mike Simpson, Director of Training, Carolina Sporting Arms, Charlotte, North Carolina
Enthusiastic Return Visits
One of the most important factors in our area for bringing in new students is class cost. Having the NSSF partnerships providing the course materials and eye/ear protection for the students is huge in getting people in the door so they can start enjoying the shooting sports. When they come back in to use their survey reward, it provides another opportunity to impress on them how much fun shooting is, and they keep coming back! It’s pretty refreshing to have classes full of people wanting to be there to learn, rather than to check a box to obtain a permit. Jacques Clerc, Owner, Inner 10 Weapons & Training, Omaha, Nebraska
Great Way to Introduce Shotgun Sports
First Shots Clay Targets is working for us. It’s bringing people back in! It’s especially good for youth education. We’ve also found that our First Shots participants come back and shoot on our handgun range once they have been here. My goal is to make them successful, with confidence and pride. I love to pique their interest, and see the JOY on their face when they break their first target. --Skip Smith, Drake Landing LLC, Fuquay Varina, North Carolina
Many First Shots Students Seek Additional Training
There is so much demand and need for a class of this kind and folks are so appreciative. We consider it our duty and pleasure to offer First Shots, and many continue to other classes and as better informed customers in our store and at other shooting events. I consider any and all costs regarding First Shots as some of my best spent marketing dollars. First Shots is a winner of a program all the way around! — Richard Sprague, Sprague’s Sports, Yuma, Arizona
