NSSF Awards Five-Star Rating to Midwest Shooting Center
NEWTOWN, Conn. — NSSF®, the trade association for the firearm industry is pleased to announce that it has awarded its highest Five-Star rating for range excellence to Midwest Shooting Center of Cridersville, Ohio.
Located less than 10 miles from the busy city of Lima and not far from the Indiana state line, this expansive indoor range boasts a number of top-end amenities, not the least of which are its 24 shooting positions that include 10 static-target 25-yard lanes, 10 dynamic target 25-yard lanes reserved for member use and four 100-yard lanes. The 100-yard range can handle up to .50-caliber and is immensely popular with patrons renting from a variety of specialty firearms, including a selection of suppressed and full-autos. Another big draw is Midwest’s four live-fire gaming systems that give customers a highly interactive and exciting shooting experience, while a smartly curated retail center sees constant and regular traffic from area target shooters and competitors.
Open to the public, this shooting center has a thriving membership thanks to the many privilege’s members enjoy. Among them are unlimited range time, the dynamic-target members-only range, a members-only lounge that can also be reserved for private events, online lane reservation capabilities, numerous guest passes and discounts on locker rentals, firearm rentals and training. Those training classes are another area where this range shines, with a unique mix of basic, concealed carry and specialty combat courses.
“Midwest Shooting Center checks all the boxes when it comes to a well-rounded facility,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Director, Retail & Range Business Development. “You see it in the great rapport the staff have with their customers, you see it in the creative training the range offers and you see it in the emphasis on entertainment. That’s what gets people hooked on the shooting sports, and that’s what makes Midwest an NSSF Five-Star range.”
“Midwest Shooting Center opened with a focus on providing top-tier, quality experiences to the entire spectrum of the shooting sports community, said Brad McCluer, Managing and Operating Partner. “It’s very exciting to be able to provide the service and experience to a community of people who has never otherwise had these opportunities. Thanks to our staff and patrons alike, we are set to expand our operations in 2021 to become a multi-unit operation. Receiving the NSSF Five-Star rating this year confirmed our expectations; it is the standard to be followed throughout the business. The support of NSSF has been more than instrumental to our success, and we look forward to a continued relationship now and in the future.”
Range owners and operators interested in achieving an NSSF star rating must first apply to the program and complete the comprehensive self-assessment. That assessment includes a critique of four primary areas: appearance, management, shooting sports development and amenities. Completed applications, along with photos and supporting documents, are then submitted to NSSF, and if the facility appears to qualify for the top Five-Star rating, that range will then receive an onsite visit from NSSF staff.
