NSSF Awards Granite State Indoor Range Five-Star Rating
NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the trade association for the firearms industry, is pleased to announce that it has awarded its highest Five-Star rating for excellence to Granite State Indoor Range.
Located roughly 45 minutes northeast of Boston and just over the New Hampshire state line, Granite State features 15 25-yard lanes rated for rifle use. Five of those lanes are in a static bay and intended for training classes, events, leagues and private instruction. The other 10 feature see-through, bullet-proof stalls that allow both the range master and the range’s guests a bright, wide-open view of the entire bay. Both bays are equipped with XWT’s 360-degree turning target retrieval system activated by user-friendly touchscreens in each stall. A technologically advanced custom HEPA system and a specialized granulated rubber bullet trap make for a comfortable and environmentally safe atmosphere for both customers and staff.
In addition to the shooting range, Granite State has a well-equipped in-house retail store complemented by an online retail center, a “try before you buy” program and an extensive rental firearms setup that includes handguns, rifles, shotguns and full-autos. A resident gunsmith, lifetime warranty and 30-day return terms offered on all new firearms, a busy calendar of firearms training classes, on-site gunsmith and an active pin shoot league have a steady stream of customers coming through the door, and traffic really increased with the newly added V23 Live Fire Simulator that ups the entertainment and training quotients through the use of interactive games complete such as carnival contests, battleships, zombies and more, complete with sound effects.
“We had awarded Granite State a Five-Star rating under our previous system, and they’ve made exceptional strides in meeting the higher expectations of the current evaluation,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Director, Range Services. “It’s just a ball to shoot here! I’d encourage anyone in the area to make this range their ‘home range,’ as it is truly an exceptional facility.”
“We are proud to pursue and achieve the highest standards of safety and service,” said Rick Bishop, the range’s owner. “It is always rewarding to be recognized for our effort and hard work, especially by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. We were honored by this award under the previous system and even more so today. From everyone here at Granite State Indoor Range and Gun Shop, we’d like to thank the team at the NSSF for their dedication to make our industry better.”
NSSF’s highly respected Star-Rating Range Program works to encourage ranges of all sizes and locations to excel. Applying for rating requires completing a comprehensive questionnaire and a business owner self-evaluation of the facilities, staff, community outreach and other criteria. Ranges that appear to meet the criteria for Four- or Five-Star rating receive an onsite evaluation by NSSF staff. NSSF Member ranges that meet a Three-Star rating are recognized for being a part of the Star-Rating range family and are provided guidance to improve their facilities and achieve the higher two ratings.
