Ohio’s Vandalia Range and Armory Newest NSSF Five-Star Range
NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the firearms industry trade association, is pleased to announce that it has awarded Vandalia Range and Armory the organization’s highest rating of five stars for excellence in range design and service. Located in Ohio’s thriving Vandalia area, the headquarter facility was founded in 2006. A sister location was established in New Castle, Indiana, in 2014, with its own new range facility opening just this past June.
“We have long been impressed with Vandalia’s Ohio range,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Director, Range Services. “We awarded the range five stars under our previous evaluation program, and when we developed our new, more stringent criteria last year, there was little doubt Vandalia would once again make the grade. The staff there does a tremendous job of providing a top-notch customer experience, and they fully deserve our highest rating.”
Open seven days a week, Vandalia Range and Armory boasts 15 25-yard pistol lanes and an impressive five-lane 100-yard rifle range, all in a climate-controlled environment featuring a high-quality ventilation system. An impressive lineup of current-production rental handguns and rifles are available, training courses run the gamut from comprehensive basic safety and concealed carry classes to Vandalia’s uniquely designed Shooting Technique Advancement Course that incorporates laser simulation and live-fire training. An event room is available for special group bookings, a robust inventory of firearms graces the retail center and is also available through Vandalia’s online catalog, and flexible membership packages make this family-run operation a go-to resource for this bustling Dayton suburb’s active population.
“We are honored and privileged to achieve the Five-Star range achievement once again,” said Alex Hague, Vandalia’s co-owner. “We have a great respect for the NSSF and what they do for the shooting sports industry. We are proud to be a Five-Star range and a NSSF member, and we look forward to continuing to provide our customers one of the best facilities in the nation.”
NSSF’s highly respected Star-Rating Range Program works to encourage ranges of all sizes and locations to excel. Applying for rating requires answering a comprehensive questionnaire and business owner self-evaluation of the facilities, staff, community outreach and other criteria. Ranges that appear to meet the criteria for Four- or Five-Star rating receive an on-site evaluation by NSSF staff. NSSF member ranges that meet a Three-Star rating are recognized for being a part of the Star-Rating range family and are provided guidance to improve their facilities and achieve the higher two ratings.
