Taurus Named Newest Bronze Sponsor of 3rd Annual NSSF/HAVA Golf Classic, Will Host PGA Tour Professional and Extra Contests for Attendees
NEWTOWN, Conn.—The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the trade association for the firearms industry, is pleased to announce that Taurus has agreed to sponsor the 3rd Annual NSSF/HAVA Golf Classic at the Bronze level. The third-time sponsor will also host a PGA Tour pro and contests at the tournament. Taurus is known for its full line of high quality pistols and revolvers. The U.S. team and factory is located in Miami, and Forjas Taurus also operates a new facility in São Leopoldo, Brazil.
To add to the ever-growing NSSF/HAVA Golf Classic, three-time PGA Tour winner John Rollins will appear on behalf of Taurus. A native of Virginia who now calls Texas home, Rollins is an avid outdoorsman and shooting enthusiast. Rollins will put on a free clinic prior to the shotgun start where attendees can receive pointers and personalized instruction and also get a chance to interact with a tour professional.
In addition, Taurus will sponsor a “Big Break” challenge that will reward one winner with a free Taurus firearm. Rollins will also be stationed on one hole where all groups will get to use his tee shot.
“Having Taurus on board for the 3rd Annual NSSF/HAVA Gold Classic will absolutely make a difference in the lives of American soldiers returning home and working through the healing process,” said Chris Dolnack, NSSF Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “We are grateful for the company’s sponsorship and additional support this year.”
“We support HAVA throughout the year, but this is a special event” said Taurus President and CEO Anthony Acitelli. “HAVA is making a difference in so many lives and has been able to expand their reach and what they offer to our wounded veterans and their families. Seeing this progress is encouraging and reminds us the importance of supporting this great organization and finding opportunities to do more. We are excited about the tournament and look forward to seeing everyone there.”
The NSSF/HAVA Golf Classic, now in its third year, raises money to support disabled veterans with their healing process through guided hunts, target shooting events and other outdoor sports activities. HAVA is Honored American Veterans Afield, a 501(c)(3) organization formed by companies in the shooting and outdoor industry.
