U.S. Secretaries Discuss Expanded Public Lands And Conservation Efforts

U.S. Secretary of Interior David Bernhardt and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue joined NSSF’s Larry Keane, Senior Vice President for Government and Public Affairs, in an episode to kick of SHOT Show TV for 2020. Their chat included both Secretaries discussing their hunting industry backgrounds and traditions, limitations on the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens, as well as what they see ahead regarding regulatory policy and legislation.

A few key points discussed include the passage of the Farm Bill, which reauthorized – and expanded – Conservation Reserve Program acreage in the United States, advancements within the Healthy Forests Initiative, as well as research and diagnosis efforts to combat Chronic Wasting Disease.

Wrapping up the conversation, both Secretaries commended the law-abiding Second Amendment enthusiasts who attended the Richmond, Virginia rally to stand up for their Constitutional rights in a peaceful and respectful way.
