West Coast Armory Earns NSSF Five-Star Range Rating
NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the trade association for the firearms industry, is pleased to announce that West Coast Armory has been awarded the organization’s top Five-Star rating for range excellence.
This Washington-state company has two footprints, a dual-purpose range and retail facility in the bustling suburb of Bellevue, across Lake Washington from Seattle, and a second retail-only storefront a few miles southwest in the town of Issaquah. The Bellevue location, commonly known as the Bellevue Gun Club, consists of Bay 1’s 12 20-yard lanes for pistol calibers and 10 25-yard lanes with wider stalls and touchpad carrier controls in Bay 2. Bay 3, a tactical bay, is available for use by the range’s Gold members, for hosted events, and for law enforcement training, while Bay 4 boasts 10 20-yard lanes for pistol and shotgun use. All bays are wheelchair-accessible, and Bays 2 and 3 accommodate rifle calibers up to .308 and shotguns, in addition to handguns.
The spotless, well-lit, climate-controlled range facility is complemented by West Coast Armory’s team of experienced instructors who host an assortment of classes offered each month. They are also available for private instruction. An impressive lineup of rental firearms offers something for everyone, and a shooting simulator provides added entertainment value for both members and their non-shooting guests. The well-designed membership program ensures shooters of all interest levels and budgets can enjoy the outstanding facilities and its amenities. The range also accommodates private events, such as corporate outings, bachelor parties and birthday parties. The West Coast Armory Pro Shop fronting the range facilities offers a wide range of ammunition and accessories.
“West Coast Armory was a notable facility five years ago when we awarded it a Five-Star rating under our previous evaluation program,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Director, Shooting Range Services. “We believed its staff would be up for the challenge of meeting that same grade under the more stringent rating criteria we put in place last year, and they did so admirably. West Coast Armory continues to improve its overall business performance and management practices while providing first-class services to enhance the customer and member experience.”
“It is an honor to have received the NSSF Five-Star rating,” said Devin Gude, Range and Training Director for West Coast Armory. “Our goal is to provide the best possible experience for everyone who comes to our facility, and we look forward to continuing to provide that level of experience for everyone who visits us.”
NSSF’s highly respected Star-Rating Range Program works to encourage ranges of all sizes and locations to excel. Applying for rating requires answering a comprehensive questionnaire and business owner self-evaluation of the facilities, staff, community outreach and other criteria. Ranges that appear to meet the criteria for Four- or Five-Star rating receive an on-site evaluation by NSSF staff. NSSF member ranges that meet a Three-Star rating are recognized for being a part of the Star-Rating range family and are provided guidance to improve their facilities and achieve the higher two ratings.
