WingshootingUSA Announces ‘Take Your Kid Hunting’ Sweepstakes Winners and New Hunter Increase
Scott Linden, host of television’s WingshootingUSA series, has announced the winners of the NSSF-sponsored “Take Your Kid Hunting” sweepstakes on the Scott Linden Outdoors blog.
Lynn Burdick will be hunting on horseback with her son and Scott Linden as the grand-prize winner of the “Take Your Kid Hunting” sweepstakes. She tops a list of five winners. The remainder will hunt with their child at a nearby bird-hunting preserve. Those winners include Bruce Visniski of Muskegon, Mich., Robert Cheeseman of Burlington, N.J., Thomas Mathias of Lancaster, N.Y., and John Rexrode of Henderson, N.C.
The grand-prize trip will be filmed for an upcoming Wingshooting USA episode this November at the 86,000-acre Ruggs Ranch in eastern Oregon, a bird- and big-game hunting lodge where Linden and the Burdicks will saddle up to hunt chukars, Hungarian Partridge and pheasants.
Through television promotional announcements and online and social media, Wingshooting USA viewers were urged to enter the contest, which was designed to encourage parents to welcome their youngsters to bird hunting. A recent survey of Wingshooting USA viewers supports the promotion’s goal, with respondents indicating a 30 percent increase over last year in the number of individuals introducing someone to the sport. Based on the survey response, Wingshooting USA viewers took a new hunter into the field over 2 million times last season!
The fourth annual “Take Your Kid Hunting” sweepstakes launches in late June. Enter at NSSF’s WingshootingUSA.org website, which also provides a searchable database of game-bird preserves nationwide.
