Woods Group Range Consulting Sponsors 2016 NSSF Lead Management and OSHA Workshop

NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®) is pleased to announce that the Woods Group Range Consulting has signed on to sponsor the 2016 NSSF Lead Management and OSHA Workshop, April 24-26, in Portland, Oregon. Headed by owner Patrick Woods, Woods Group Range Consulting specializes in consulting services for new range establishment and management of range and firearms retail facilities, with additional services such as HVAC assessment, budget planning and equipment selection, energy consumption plans and lead air sampling offered for small arms ranges. This is the second Lead Management & OSHA Workshop the Woods Group has sponsored.

“We are very excited to have the Woods Group Range Consulting firm repeat its sponsorship of this very important workshop,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Manager, Shooting Promotions. “Attendees at the workshop we held in North Carolina last year were extremely positive about Patrick and the work he does, with many telling us how valuable it was having someone with this kind of expertise on hand to share their knowledge. I expect this year’s first workshop in Portland will likewise prove beneficial.”

“I am excited and honored to be a part of such an important educational effort by the NSSF. In an industry constantly under fire, it is vitally important for myself and my clients to be well-versed in all current regulatory protocols,” said Woods. “It is equally important to me as a range owner to maximize cost savings and liability prevention while maintaining compliance with these various regulatory agencies and, through my experience, assisting my clients in doing the same. Despite the various challenges presented on a day-to-day basis, this is still such a dynamic and exciting industry, and I am so grateful to the NSSF for allowing me to take part in its protection through education and awareness.”

Designed to enable owners and operators of shooting ranges of all sizes an opportunity to discover the latest in lead management and OSHA (Operational Safety and Health Administration) best practices, the two-day workshop will focus on environmental and regulatory requirements for both indoor and outdoor shooting facilities, OSHA enforcement and penalty structure, implementation of health and safety plans, medical surveillance and other issues relevant to compliance.
